Synopsis

There is no better security than the presence of the Almighty God. God is reliable and He will back you up fully. He does not fall asleep. He cannot be taken by surprise. Commit your family and your future to Him and He will take care of them. Your tomorrow will be all right.

As we grow and mature in the things of God, we need to come to place where we can trust in the Lord beyond what we can see and understand, when we can trust God with the unknown, incomprehensible, the things of the future, and have confidence in Him.

Trust the Lord because He knows how to order our steps and He always shows Himself great. 2 Timothy 1:12.

Evidences of Trusting in the Lord:
1. Rejoicing – Psalms 5:11a

  • Rejoicing is a mindset of positive praise and a thankful spirit that is ever grateful to God.  Are you a sour puss?  Does everything always seem nasty and aggravating?  Do you find faults in everything?  Rather, do you have that element of a joyful, thankful praise to God?
  • What do you have to be thankful for? Salvation, Liberty, Blessed Assurance.

2. Joy– Psalms 5:11b

  • By trusting in the Lord, we can shout for joy and have that pleasant spirit; we can have that sweetness about us.  We can have a positive spirit and outlook on every single day regardless of what is going on.  Observes the lives of people like Daniel, David, Paul and Silas. Even after being beaten and imprisoned, the joy of Paul and Silas could not be silenced.

3. Protection– Psalms 5:11c

  • There is a divine defense and protection that comes as a result of trusting in God. There is a protective hand of God over those who yielded to Him.  Stop being afraid to be the person or to do the things that God has called you to be or to do.   Psalm 91:3-4; 124:6-8; 32:7; 9:9-10; 46:1.
  • Why do you think God protects us?  We are his possession, and what you own, you will watch carefully watch for.  If indeed you belong to the Lord, He will protect those who are His.  The protection is because we are His passion; He loves us.

4. Purpose– Psalms 5:11d

  • Trusting in the Lord gives us our motivation to get up everyday and boldly declare, “This is the day that the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.
  • God has a reason for your being alive today. He has a reason for your existence here.
